The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 for Nintendo Switch officially pushed back to 2023
The developers are working on new gameplay mechanics
The continuation of the adventure game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will not be released in 2022, Nintendo announced in a message to fans. Now the release of the long-awaited adventure game is expected in the spring of 2023.
“We want to apologize to everyone who has been waiting for the game in 2022,” said series producer Eiji Aonuma.

Aonuma reminded that in the sequel to Breath of the Wild, the scope for adventure will become even larger and will include the skies of Hyrule.
The developers are working on new gameplay mechanics, and in order to realize all their plans and make the game really special, they needed additional production time.
Some fans, meanwhile, believe that the postponement of the game is also due to the desire of Nintendo to launch it with a new Switch model. Rumors about Switch 4K and Switch 2 have been floating around the net for a long time.
The original The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was released in March 2017 and has become one of the most iconic games in Nintendo history. As of December 31, 2021, it has sold 25.80 million copies worldwide on Switch alone .
