Seth Green was robbed of his NFT with Bored Ape – the actor created a series with the hero of the token, however, the release of the show is now under question

Green showed the first teaser of his series

Actor/producer Seth Green, also known as the voice of the Joker in Mass Effect, planned to release his own series with animation elements, where the main character was supposed to be NFT Bored Ape at number 8398.

Until the beginning of May 2022, Green himself owned the non-fungible token, but scammers stole NFT directly from the producer’s wallet after he accidentally entered a phishing site.

In addition to Bored Ape 8398, two Ape mutants and an NFT Doodle were stolen from Green. Judging by the OpenSea website, the desired token is now owned by an anonymous collector DarkWing84, who transferred it to the GBE Vault for safekeeping. However, Green was unable to get in touch with him and it is not yet known whether DarkWing84 knew that he had acquired the stolen NFT.

The loss of the token means that Green has actually lost all rights to the NFT Bored Ape 8398, which means that the release of the show with this hero is in doubt. The author of the series plans to return the rights to the token and ensure that his series is still released.

Green wants to avoid litigation and negotiate directly with DarkWing84, which now owns Bored Ape 8398. In the event of a lawsuit, this should be a precedent, since there have been no previous cases of theft of NFTs, for which individual projects are being prepared.

At the end of May, as part of an offline event, Green showed the first teaser of his series, in which Bored Ape 8398 got the role of a bartender. The character was named Fred Simian.
