In her post, she expressed her gratitude to crypto service MoonPay, which buys Bored Ape NFT at lower prices, to offer them later to wealthy clients.

Fans of the pop star were not impressed with Madonna’s entry into NFT. “Please delete this,” wrote one user. Another fan urged the pop star not to destroy his unparalleled musical heritage by promoting dubious cryptocurrency projects.

Most of the comments reflect growing anti-NFT sentiment. “Madonna. I’ve always looked at you, but it’s very frustrating,” complained another user.

Madonna is the highest-profile celebrity to have joined the NFT obsession, joining musicians such as Justin Bieber and Eminem. Although she hasn’t had as much success in the past decade, she remains the most successful female artist of all time with more than 300 million copies sold worldwide.

After breaking through in the mid-1980s with “Like a Virgin,” her diamond album, she managed to stay atop the pop music scene for decades. Despite declining popularity in the US, Madonna managed to top the charts across Europe with her electro-pop disco album Confessions on a Dance Floor in the mid-2000s.

In 2018, the pop star has partnered with blockchain company Ripple to raise funds for orphans in Miami.
