H2L Technologies, a Japanese startup company is developing a new technology for future metaverses and virtual reality. This is a special bracelet that conveys pain.
The technology allows transmitting not only tactile signals, which make it possible to “feel” a virtual object, but can also stimulate muscles with small electrical discharges.
“The sense of pain allows us to transform the world of the metaverse into the real world with an enhanced sense of presence and immersion,” H2L CEO Amy Tamaki told the Financial Times.
The first tests showed that the technology works, but it is not yet clear when the release version will appear, how much it will cost, and in which countries it will be available to buy.
