Fast food is finally entering the metaverse and NFT ecosystem
KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell. All three of these brands are leaders in the fast food industry, but another thing they have in common is that they are all under the same umbrella.
This umbrella is Yum! Brands, the leading franchise organization behind some of the world’s most popular restaurant chains. The company has exported its brands worldwide and is present in most major cities around the world.
This proves that Yum! Brands have perfected their expansion and marketing strategies, and as the consortium is part of the NFT and the metaverse, this could come in handy.
Yum! Brands in the Metaverse Ecosystem
Fast food is finally entering the metaverse and NFT ecosystem, and as brands like Burger King, Mcdonald’s, Panda Express, and others began to take steps to enter the metaverse, it became apparent that it was only a matter of time before KFC via Yum! Brands followed suit.
Michael Kondudis is one of the most trusted sources when it comes to NFT news and metaverse-related SEC filings. On March 30, Michael Kondudis announced that Yum! Brands filed applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office on March 25, 2022.
Application Yum! Brands could mean that brands under this umbrella will soon start offering virtual services and products. A press statement from Mr. Kondudis reads:
“It is clear that Yum! Brands sees the potential of Metaverse and is preparing its trademarks and brands for the virtual economy that will dominate it.”
These trademark filings “follow the trend of other restaurant industry players such as McDonald’s, Burger King, Panera Bread and Panda Express to start preparing to participate in the Metaverse.”
As the fast food sector enters the metaverse and the NFT space is in full force, many are wondering how this will help revolutionize or redefine the fast food space.
Competition in the Metaverse
It looks like a lot of fast food players have decided to enter the NFT space at the same time, and with a lot of these players vying for user attention and patronage, it will be interesting to see how different fast food brands try to stand out from the crowd.
In the end, there’s no denying that brands like Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and KFC are a huge part of our lives, and we can’t help but wish them the best of luck in their latest Metaverse endeavors.
