Eight internal Microsoft studios are now making games on Unreal Engine 5
Epic Games has announced the full launch of the next generation Unreal Engine 5 (or Unreal Engine 5.0 ). Previously only available to selected partners of Tim Sweeney‘s team, now anyone can create games on it. The release build suggests using all key technologies, including Natine and Lumen.
During the State of Unreal presentation, the head of Epic Games said that today dozens of studios around the world create games using Unreal Engine 5. Among them are CD Projekt RED , Obsidian Entertainment, Rare, Ninja Theory and Gearbox.
Ambitious AAA game developers are trying to achieve photorealism and parity between CG graphics and reality using Unreal Engine 5 .
Separately, Sweeney noted fruitful cooperation with Xbox – eight internal Microsoft studios are now making games on Unreal Engine 5 .
Epic Games also unveiled two unique titles for PC developers, Lyra and City Sample. The first is an advanced space for experiments in the field of creating shooters, and the second is dedicated to creating a realistic city for the acclaimed tech demo Matrix Awakens.
