Bloomberg announced details about the iPhone 14: better camera, no mini model
Instead, two two large models will be released at once
Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman said that less than six months are left before the launch of the iPhone 14 – so, it should be released in the fall of 2022. He also shared some of the characteristics of the new model.
Externally, it will not differ much from the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13. The same flat edges and rounded corners, but on the Pro models there will be new notch cutouts: round for the front camera and tablet-shaped for Face ID. The company will be able to fully integrate Face ID and the camera into the display only by 2025-2026.
The company will get rid of mini – it is not selling as well as the company would like. The screen of other models will become larger. There will be four in total:
For the first time, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models will feature a 48MP wide-angle camera and A16 processors. Others will retain a 12MP camera and A15 chips.
Apple is still working on satellite communications for the iPhone, Gurman added. The company wanted to add this feature to the iPhone 13, but this time it may succeed, he noted. This does not mean that you can call anyone via satellite – only for messages in emergencies.
